Grout Bully Review Review:

I’ve had a couple of people use Grout Bully to great success.

Here is how they did it:

The company claims that it kills mold, mildew and bacteria on contact. But it does not claim it removes debris caused by mold, mildew, bacteria or any other source. Therefore, before you apply Grout Bully, you should do a wipe down with oxygenated bleach. This type of bleach is non-toxic — and the oxygen ions break down any debris and get your tile completely clean and free. There is no need to do a thorough scrubbing. Just apply, let it sit for 30 minutes then do a wipe down.

At this point most stains are gone.

It seems gout bully has a dye (paint) component that applies a nice finish — and gets your tiles looking like new. This step is important because as your probably heard before: the devil’s in the details. I don’t think grout bully is just paint — I think it does kill bacteria as well — but I think the magic it does is in the dye.

It is possible that just applying the Grout Bully will work on it’s own. I’m just explaining how my friend found success. It’s also possible the oxygenated bleach will be satisfactory to clean.

Step by Step:

1. Order Bio Kleen Oxygen Bleach Plus from Amazon.com - follow instructions and let the mixture soak on your tile/grout for 30-minutes. This will get rid of most stains, debris, bacteria, etc. This complete wash down is pre-treatment.

2. Get Grout Bully – apply using instructions.

You are done.

Can I buy Grout Bully Review in Stores?

This Yahoo! Answers thread suggests “Walmart in now caring some, Bed Bath and Beyond, Hancock Fabrics, and Jo-anns Fabrics.” However, we have not been able to independently verified. Call stores ahead of time before you go. I tried Walmart, and did not find it.

Shipping is pretty pricey. As I did research on reviews I read a post made my someone on scambook. A lot of complaints seem to be about shipping being expensive. But a lot was explained. The company that created Grout Bully doesn’t set the shipping cost. That was set by the warehouse.

Apparently the warehouse is located in United States. So I like that more jobs are supplied to people in the USA. So lets support the USA warehouses and not complain for shipping prices. This all helps support our economy.

I am so tempted to buy this product. I am dying keeping my grout clean and I am a cleaning freak. If this product really works I will be super thrilled.

Kelly, have u tried this?

Not yet. Other review sites say that they bill you double or even tripple without letting you order. So i ended up not ordering. I did get the oxegen cleaner. It made a noticable difference. It looks good.

But it doesn’t look like ‘fresh’ paint as you see in the infomerical for grout bully. that’s why i want grout bully. i am just going to wait until it gets in stores.

Why people claim ‘double billing’: It is because with the ‘bonus’ offer, you must pay separate ‘processing & handling.’

So ‘processing & handling’ is $7.95 — and it seems you may have to pay that for each bottle you order. So that is why the final order is higher than people expect.

To be fair, the company explicitly explains their terms on their order page in very readable font size (It’s above the order form and not hidden in the fine print).

People are used to just paying a single shipping charge for order — and it is not a standard shipping model.

I tried it this morning and IT DOES NOT WORK!! Sticky glue and no color added to grout line. Ruined my big cleaning project for the day. Hope I can get my 10 bucks back.

You can use 2 gallons hot water with 1 ounce of Murphy’s Oil Soap and 2 cups white vinegar and scrub the grout. Clean it up and let it dry thoroughly. Then treat the grout with grout sealer as per directions. Problem solved. You should never use bleach on grout. It will weaken it.

Reply

Admin January 7, 2012 at 5:13 pm

Oxygen Bleach is different. When you add water it immediately decomposes to water and oxygen. It’s not as harsh. That’s why you find it in tide w/ bleach and other cleaning products that get a great clean without the harshness of regular bleach. So it’s not bleach per say because with water it immediately breaks down.

I was only charged what they said I was going to be charged on the checkout page. I’m happy so far. When I get the grout bully I will try and return to post a followup. Tcau.

I order the product and was told that I would get it in 4 to 6 weeks. w3 3 weeks go by and no email or anything. so I add them on facebook or like their page. I see a post from the grout bully website on facebook that they’re back orders are caught up. so I call and find out my order is not even going to ship for an additional 2 weeks. and when I ask the woman why is it going to be 2 weeks she tells me my order my product is on backorder. so I’d tell her to go ahead and cancel my order. She says ok and does just that. And I cancelled order because really u pay more in shipping then in the product. That whole backorder thing is bs. So I feel others should know I go on fb page and make a comment. Only to see my comment was deleted and now I am blocked from the page. They didn’t want anyone to see that I take it. This product may work but I refuse to wait 6 to 8 weeks for something I pd 18$ to ship. NO WAY should it take that long. Someone else will make it nd maybe not be so shady!

Just used this product. What a scam! We followed the directions to the letter. When we tried to remove the excess, everything came out, exposing the original grout! Also the sponge used to clean it, falls apart and gets so soaked it only slobbers product all over your tiles! Shame, shame, shame! Get these bastards in jail!

I finally received my product after what seemed like an eternity. The ease of application is horrible. You would think they would have put heavier applicators on the bottles because of the coarseness of the grout. These are no more than shoe polish applicators. Needless to say, halfway through the first bottle, my applicator was gone. Also, you almost have to do a second application if you want a clean even finish. The bottles are very hard, and not easy to squeeze.

I will definitely not be re-ordering this product.

What a scam. I should have gotten a clue when you go on the website to order they scam you on the shipping and then you can’t go back and change your order or you will be charged twice. They said I would be charged when the order shipped they debited my card the following week for more than the order and I have yet to receive my product. Wait till the product is available in the store so then you can return it. The shipping is a rip off I paid for expedited shipping and have been waiting 4 weeks. Don’t order this product you will be wasting your money. This is a scam

I did not confirm the purchase of this product. My credit card was charge about two months after I never confirmed to purchase this product on groutbully.com. As far as I’m concerned this was an unauthorized charge and they have no business charging my credit card two months after I inquired about the product on Groutbully.com. I did not confirm the purchase of this product because of the ridiculous shipping and handling charges. Seeing as I never confirmed this transaction I had expected all my money back ($27.52). I also spent $5.80 plus my time and travel to return the product and only received $10.63 back, so when it’s all said and done I had spent $33.32 on this product I never agreed to buy and only end up getting $4.83 back after subtracting the amount it cost me to send it back from the refund amount.

I have a video review of this product. You can check it out with this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXdG89R_yLU

This product is awful! first, the applicator doesn’t work after squeezing several times, the sponges do not take off the excess, the grout cover does not cover the area except if you go over it 3 times, by then you’re exhausted trying to get off the excess grout. This product does NOT work as told on the TV commercials

I live in Canada and ordered this today. When I got to the confirmation page of their website I noticed they added an additional $9.99 as a “Canadian Surcharge”. I searched the website – there is no indication anywhere on the site that there will be an additional charge on orders from Canada. Once you are at the confirmation page, there is no going back, the order has been submitted.

I put a post on their facebook page thinking it would give other Canadian buyers a heads up. My comment was immediately deleted and I was blocked. I may have been okay with that surcharge, albeit sleazy in the way it was snuck in there, but when they removed the comment and blocked me on Facebook, it gave me a good indication of the type of company I was dealing with and I want nothing to do with it. Trying to cancel the order, let’s see how well that goes.

Does it look good? Yes.
Does it actually eliminate mold and mildew? Not sure.

Not sure if this stuff really does what it says it’s gonna do but Grout Bully at least looks the way the commercial displays it to look. I need a litttle bit of work on my accuracy of getting it on my grout line. I’m finding that it’s a little bit hard for it to come out. You have to really push down hard for it to come out but it does in fact come out. Cheap product – not so cheap shipping – good results.

Avoid doing business with Grout Bully at all costs. In my personal experience, the bad reviews seem truthful, indicate consistent problems (RED FLAGS) and are not exaggerated. I still decided to give them a chance, and I was extremely disappointed.
Grout Bully customer service is terrible and obviously very inexperienced. There was absolutely no communication whatsoever after I placed my order online. I called a week later to find out about the backorder and was told I would have to wait another 2-4 weeks, so I immediately cancelled the order.
Customer service was extremely evasive about my order at first until I pushed and pushed to speak to a supervisor. I was told that their supervisors “don’t typically take calls unless there is urgent need.” I asked the CS rep to explain that statement, and she had no explanation. I demanded to speak to a supervisor.
I spoke with a supervisor and told him that I wanted a confirmation that my order was cancelled, and he said he would send me an e-mail. When I asked when that e-mail would arrive after he confirmed the e-mail address, he told me to expect it within 24-48 hours. I told the “supervisor” that customers should be told upfront about the backorder and given the option to opt out. Instead, they don’t communicate AT ALL. This “supervisor” made one excuse after another and argued with me causing increased frustration, which solidified my decision not to do business with this company. A properly trained supervisor could have saved that sale.
This was the most ridiculous experience and certainly confirmed the problems experienced by previous customers. I wasted too much time trying to give these people a chance despite consistently terrible reviews, and they blew it.
I believe every business should have a chance to succeed except for those businesses that take advantage of customers and consistently fail to put the customer first.
Look elsewhere for your grout cleaning needs. Remember to clean the grout first before using a grout whitener or sealer, and I recommend using oxygenated bleach. Another option that is getting good reviews is Homax Products Grout Whitener Tile Care Maintenance & Sealer. Avoid the grout “pens” because they just do not work well.

What a terrible product Grout Bully turned out to be! Yes, it goes on quickly and with very little effort. The bad part, it is horrible on older grout and the quick application takes HOURS to remove!!! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.

To prevent the mold you need to clean it more often. Bring sotfscrub and an abrasive sponge with you into the shower and right before you shower, clean the shower, or at smallest amount 1/2 of the shower, and then do the other half a further time. Do this about once a week or more. You shouldn’t have any more problems. Softscrub with bleach that’s a gel works best. For your problem now use bleach and hydrogen peroxide with a gentle, but firm touch with an abrasive sponge. Leave the Clorox and peroxide on there for a excellent five minutes and then scrub it off. This should work fantastic. You can also place these chemicals together into one spray bottle and then spray it on heavily everywhere in your shower. It works fantastic on grout and you’ll be able to see it bubble up and work right before your eyes.Oh for cracks and small places to clean, use an ancient toothbrush.Excellent luck!

All I can say is that … The TV commercial makes it look REALLY easy to do. Not so easy to do in my book. I pressed down & squeezed the bottle while trying to fill the grout line, like they say to do in the commercial but … it was NOT easy!!

My house is over 40 yrs old and the 2 bathrooms have 1″X1″ white tiles on the floors and halfway up the walls. The tiles are in great shape but the white grout is so stained it won’t clean fully. I bought the white product at my local drugstore for $9.99 and had phenomenal results. Some areas that were worse than others took a second coat, but I had great results and it was easy to use. I started by practicing in a concealed area where any mistakes would be hidden. After I got the hang of it and felt confident, I quickly moved on with the rest. Amazing! I’ve tried every product on the market, and even professional steam cleaning, and this is the best. No scrubbing, no fumes, and it’s fast. I’m so happy with the results. I don’t know what all the complaints about the applicator are about. If you can polish your shoes, you can do this. Seriously folks, my 3 r old niece actually helped me with this project! The rest of the house has been re-tiled with more modern 12″X12″ multi-colored tile and I’m thinking of purchasing the terracotta product for that tile. I can’t wait to see those results.

Here’s the real scoop. Does the product work? Yes, it’s actually pretty dang good. Does it work as easily as they show on their commercial and website…no. But, you have to be realistic about these things. My white grout in the shower was very discolored, and it did a great job of renewing it. It did take a lot of time and effort, but it was well worth it. I actually used a Q-Tip to apply to the grout. Way less waste and much easier to clean up. I didn’t purchase the product from their website, so I didn’t have to experience any of those difficulties. To wrap up, this is a viable product if you have some patience and are not expecting a 5 minute miracle cure.

i just used the white for the bathroom and it worked great. didn’t use the sponge after the bath just used water and rag to wipe off excess.
i am now using it in the kitchen looks beautiful. will use it agin. the only
thing i didn’t like is the sponge is wearing out and i guess i will cut the
top off to use the rest with a sponge brush. they need to forget the sponge and add another topper. put on a screw lid. otherwise i would recommend this it is great!!

I purchased Grout Bully from a store, not the website. I just finished using Grout Bully in my front entrance way. The original grout was tan in color but was discolored in spots and I wanted to change the look so I used black. I purchased 2 bottles because I wasn’t sure how much it would take to complete the floor. At 1st the bottle was very hard to squeeze so I used scissors to open the whole in the applicator top, then it worked wonderfully! My tile is tan, white and grey and I was worried about the excess cleanup so I started in the closet area. They don’t tell you to dampen the sponges so at first I tried to remove the excess grout with the dry eraser. It did remove the extra but it was very difficult. I rinsed the sponge and squeezed all the excess water and tried again… Well, it worked wonderfully!! (They should say in the directions to slightly dampen the Bully Eraser.) I simply placed my fingers on top of the sponge on both sides of the grout line and gently moved along the line. I waited and applied a second coat for more even appearance and I think it came out beautifully. Wish I could show you a picture! :) My concern now is… will the black wipe off when I go to clean my floor? will I have to use this stuff over and over again?
So far, I have no complaint about the Grout Bully.

I paid $ at walmart for this product and it worked perfect. I would have paid 10 times that for the change it made to my bathroom floor. i was ready to tear the floor out but this saved it.
The product takes some getting used to. You have to shake well, which i didnt at first. also make sure you put on a lot. i saturated the area and then used the sponge to buff off the tiles when very dry. It says let sit 2 minutes. i let sit for an hour jsut to make sure i didnt smudge it. I took my time applying and even did a few coats in spots and it really looks amazing.
